Let’s Celebrate DUCK WEEK!
Our beloved downtown ducklings have been gracing the streets of downtown Harrisonburg since March 2024, so we're celebrating their two year birthday with Duck Week, March 28 - April 4. Join us for special duck-themed activities inside the museum and be sure to get outside to see if you can find Mother Duck and her 8 ducklings!

Lucky Duck Scavenger Hunt (all month)
We know how much you love exploring the Museum with our super fun scavenger hunts. See if you can be a “Lucky Duck” and find all of the ducks hidden throughout. This will be available all month!

Tinker Town & Late Make (4 - 6 PM)
It’s a duck takeover! Come have a quacking good time making projects that any duck would love!

”Duck-tastic” Art Project (all day)
Stop by the Art Smart Studio and create your duck-approved art project!

Duck Tales (all day)
Our giant, plush ducks are a great audience for young readers. Choose a favorite duck-themed book to read with your new feathered friends!

LIVE Ducks! (10 AM – 1 PM)
Grampy will be on-site with his friendly, feathered duck friends for a special live animal experience! Families can meet the ducks, learn about how they’re cared for, and enjoy this up-close encounter.
“Duck Discovery” Preschool Programs (3rd Floor with Ms. Melanie):
Ms. Melanie will welcome preschool friends for stories, songs, movement, and all the duck-inspired fun you can imagine. Perfect for curious little learners who love animals and hands-on discovery!
Young Explorers – 10:15 AM

Outdoor Scavenger Hunt (on your own):
Come and play inside the Museum, but when you’re ready, continue the fun outside on a SCAVENGER HUNT to find Mother Duck and her 8 ducklings! After you find them all, pick up your Lucky Duck scratcher at Explore More to reveal your prize. Find all of the details to get started HERE.
