Calling YOUTH ARTISTS!
We are excited to offer the fifth year of our Artist Apprenticeship Program for aspiring young artists, ages 8-12.
We’re excited to celebrate the 5th year of our Artist Apprenticeship Program, a special opportunity for aspiring young artists ages 8–12 to learn from local professional artists.
In this unique program, small groups of students will be paired with a local artist mentor for weekly instruction throughout the month of February. Students will explore new artistic techniques, develop their skills, and create their own original work alongside an experienced artist. The program will culminate with a special exhibition of their artwork during our March 5, 2027 First Friday Free event, where family, friends, and the community can celebrate their accomplishments.
Applications are due on November 30.
DETAILS:
The program will be able to offer slots to a limited number of youth participants (ages 8 - 12) who are willing to commit the time and work necessary to create their best art work.
The time commitment will include an orientation session in January and four weekly sessions on Thursday evenings in February from 6 - 8 PM. The program will culminate with an art show on March 5, during our First Friday Free event.
There is a $100 fee and the Museum will provide all materials for classes and the gallery showing. Scholarships are available based on demonstrated need. Please contact us for more information. The fee is due at the time the student accepts the invitation to participate, not with the initial application. Please note that past participants are welcome to apply, but preference will be given to first-time participants.
