Classes are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please call the museum if you would like to check on class status. You may complete the application form and waiver on-line, or drop off or mail the form with check to the museum. Payment must be received by Explore More to secure a space in the class. We are only able to accept credit card payments in person and through on-line registration. We regret that we are unable to accept credit card payment over the phone and cannot hold spots, for any length of time, while waiting for a payment to arrive. In the event that minimum enrollments are not met, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule classes. If this occurs, your entire fee will be refunded. There are no refunds for classes dropped less than 10 business days before class begins. A 50% refund will be issued if the museum is notified in writing at least 10 business days before class starts. 


Children should bring a peanut free snack to class each day. There will be a short break each day during which children will eat their snack.

Staying for Lunch:

Children in rising grades 1 - 8 who have registered for both a morning and an afternoon session in the same week are welcome to stay for a supervised lunch time. Children will spend part of this time engaging in outside play in the green space behind the city municipal building if weather permits. Children must provide their own lunch.

Age Requirements:

Students enrolling in preschool classes must be 3 years old by December 31, 2017 and RELIABLY toilet-trained. All other classes are for students entering the grades listed in fall 2017.

Photo Waiver:

Explore More Discovery Museum reserves the right to use photos taken during classes and workshops for use in marketing. If you do not wish to have your child’s photo used for the museum’s purposes, please submit a request in writing with your registration form.

Pick Up/Drop Off:

Please check in with your child at the front desk at 150 South Main Street in downtown Harrisonburg no more than 10 minutes before the class begins. The museum asks that each child be signed in at the beginning of class and signed out at the end. If someone other than the child’s parent or guardian is picking the child up from class, please notify the museum.
