MUSIC EXPLORERS, a program of the Shenandoah Valley Children's Choir, is providing a one time session on Saturday, September 23, 10:00 am at the Explore More Discovery Museum. Children, ages 5-8 are invited to participate in this highly acclaimed Kodály-centered approach to teaching music. Your child will enjoy learning the fundamentals of music while moving, singing, playing games, improvising and playing instruments.  Instruction is engaging, fun and child-friendly. 

This is a FREE event. 

Joy Anderson has been a music educator and conductor for over 30 years. Mrs. Anderson has worked with children from infancy through high school in public and private school settings, and currently teaches K-5 music at Eastern Mennonite School. She teaches Kodály music educator courses at several universities each year and has worked with SVCC since 2000.

Maggie Hagy is a 2015 vocal music education major from James Madison University. Most recently, she has been the choir director of John Champe High School in Loudoun County. While  in northern VA, she was a member of the chamber choir, the VOCE Singers. Mrs. Hagy has completed Kodály level 1 training at JMU and is the music teacher at Keister Elementary School.
