Calling all middle school students...
Our popular “TED-Ed Club” is back With a New TwisT!
ExPLOre Your Ideas...STARTS Tuesday, February 6 2018; 6:30 - 8 PM
The effect of bees on the environment. The reason that all schools should have dual language instruction in elementary school. The impact of history on the future. The upside of being a bookworm. The thought of infinity….
These are just a few of the topics that students are pondering through the Explore Your Ideas Club.
This exciting program is a way to celebrate the ideas of students across the region. As a club member, students discuss, pursue and present their big ideas in the form of short video talks. While the club offers students the opportunity to connect with others who, like them, are unabashedly curious about the world, the Explore Your Ideas Club is also about presentation literacy. Working with accomplished debaters from the award-winning JMU Debate Team, students will receive hands-on opportunities to work on the storytelling and communication skills that will be vital, no matter what career path they end up strolling down.
There is no fee to participate. We are looking for 10-15 students with ideas to share and a willingness to commit the time and effort to create your own live video talk. Apply to be considered for this opportunity!
