Except when it comes to cold and flu season!
While it would be impossible to completely eliminate all germs from our hands-on, playful environment, the staff of Explore More Discovery Museum wants you to know that we are taking active measures to be extra vigilant with cleaning and sanitation procedures.
The following steps are currently in practice:
- Daily disinfecting with a kid-friendly, non-toxic cleaning product
- Extra attention is being focused on our early childhood area where the youngest Explore More visitors spend most of their time.
- Additional staff training and patron education to highlight preventative procedures
- Hand-held manipulatives, surfaces and exhibits are sanitized daily with multiple rotations
- Antibacterial hand sanitizers can be found mounted on the walls throughout the museum for convenient and safe usage.
- Before and after hours deep cleaning is done as well!
Parents can also help keep those germs at bay by working with your child to develop good habits early on. While hand sanitizers are quick and effective, nothing beats good old soap and water. Teach children to sing songs like “Happy Birthday” or their “ABC’s” while washing their hands to make sure they do it for the appropriate amount of time. You will soon notice several buckets around the museum for parents to put any toys that have been in a child’s mouth, this is another quick and easy step to help prevent illness from spreading. In consideration of other patrons, we encourage you to postpone your museum visit when your child is not well.
